Mixed Genre Writing Workshops

In this ten-week Mixed Genre Writing Workshop, participants will have the opportunity to write in a variety of genres: poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, with an emphasis placed on writing process.  You will keep two writing journals, the first one is a repository of personal facts and memories, and the second will be the writing/notes journal for the class reading and writing assignments.

This workshop is process oriented, however, I will also introduce concepts related to craft.  You will have opportunities to workshop your work with the group and I will provide direct narrative feedback.  I will facilitate the group workshop sessions to ensure that the feedback is constructive and contextually relevant to the work under discussion.  Overall the course will focus on exploration, discovery, exchange and play.  It is my hope that at the end of the course you will have lots of new material and some solid experience with the process of revision.  You will be well on your way to publication ready work.

The class will be conducted online and we will meet during regular scheduled class meeting times using video conferencing and chats. You will be invited to interact on a voluntary basis between scheduled class times using the course forum, wiki and email systems.
